Congratulations Batch 2013!

Once again, it’s April, and guess what that means? It means almost a year has passed since my college graduation, AND another batch is graduating! I know how difficult student life is, that’s why I want to congratulate the 2013 graduates. To all of you, Congratulations! At last, you have crossed over one of life’s greatest milestones – finishing college!

Reaching this far, you should be proud of yourselves. Not everyone is given the chance of getting a diploma, and not everyone who’s given the chance, end up getting one. You’ve worked hard to get where you are and that deserves to be recognized.

Finishing college, no matter how long you stay in it, is a great achievement. Some people may think that graduation only counts when one gets Latin honors, that college success is measured by one’s GWA. I don’t subscribe to that. Yes, I was a bit grade conscious (GC) in college, but I wouldn’t condemn myself just because of grades. Grades are just numbers, they don’t measure one’s worth.

Savor the moment and enjoy every bit of your graduation. Everyone is celebrating with you! The war may be over for now, but it's not finished yet. You might be get back to school again, or start looking for a job soon, so make the most out of your free time. Whatever it is that you plan to do, I hope that you don't stop chasing after your dreams. You've reached this far, you've made your parents proud, and I’m happy for all of you! Kudos to Batch 2013! May your life get more exciting from this point forward.

For those who almost made it, I want to congratulate you too. I know it entails hard work to get as close as where you are. Don't give up! A little more push, and graduation will come to you. For now, enjoy your remaining college days, for when it’s over, it will be over. Make the most out of it!

Of course, I wouldn't allow myself to miss out on the graduation vibes, so I attended University of the Philippines Mindanao's Graduation yesterday! Here's a photo of their Oble as proof:
