Encouragement Weekly #4: Be Still

Encouraging Quote

In my confession, I have mentioned about not wanting to go back to medical school. For a student in the UP College of medicine, this is a triple jeopardy. I will not only be forfeiting myself the chance to become a doctor, but it will also leave me with a debt of more than a million (not sure how much exactly), and I will be depriving the country of one future doctor. The idea is, if I did not take the slot in the first place, it could have gone to someone else who would probably be a doctor and serve the country. I won’t discuss the details of the Return Service Agreement here because that would require a separate article in itself.

I’m really worried about paying off this debt. I graduated BS Biology from UP Diliman, but I don’t  want to become a researcher or a teacher. What am I gonna do with that degree outside those paths? I only took biology to force me to take medicine, and now that I don’t want to go down that road anymore, I’m stuck.

With all these sources of anxiety, I close my eyes, kneel down, pray, and hope that everything will work out eventually. I shall be still and know that the Lord is God. He created the universe, He created me, and He is powerful to turn this time of difficulty into something beautiful.

I know it will be hard for me from this point forward, but I’m willing to embrace all of that and work hard for my future.

Is there anybody out there who’s in a similar situation?
What are your thoughts regarding my circumstances?
Do you have suggestions on what I can do?
