How mixing work and pleasure is making me happy

Mix work and play, business and pleasure, work and leisure

It's been a while since I wrote something on this blog. I've been busy but for good reasons! Thank God!

If you've been following for a while, you probably know that a little over a year ago, I quit medical school and went into the jewelry. For months now, I've been pouring all my energy into helping our jewelry business stay afloat. I've done Jewelry appraisal school, and I'm now applying what I've learned in the day-to-day trade. I've never been happier!

Why am I happy?

It's because my job

involves things that I love

I love pretty and sparkly things. I love creativity and innovation, and I enjoy the project-driven lifestyle the jewelry business offers.

allows me to practice what I'm good at

I'm good at learning things I can say, and running a jewelry business entails a lot of learning. I'm starting to catch on. :)

is something I can be paid for

People will pay for jewelry. For special occasions, as gifts, and for weddings most especially. Although it's not among people's top priorities in life, it's still important. To be honest, I think the industry is volatile. However, I still believe that it has the potential to be a lucrative source of income.

offers something the world needs (somehow)

As I've said, jewelry isn't within our top priority like food, water, clothes,  shelter, but it is still important. It is a form of investment that is accessible to anyone with extra money. With the layaway payment scheme, owning gold jewelry does not have to be a burden, and in the future. Because of its pawn value, it can come in handy when cash is needed.

Aside from those things, I'm also grateful because my job gives me a reason to fix myself, have my nails done, and wear jewelry even if it's just for photos.

Last but not the least, my job helps me exercise creativity and innovation because the jewelry trade is a mix of arts and culture, math and science, fashion and business!

I thank God for leading me into this field. I hope you'll find the same happiness and satisfaction in the work that you do!
